steering clutch housing oil to use

Sounds like you got the old girl fixed if your putting oil back in. Hope things went smooth.....

As dpendzic said, CAT recommends an oil that meets their TO4 spec.

Havent gotten the steering clutch out yet as the weather in minn is awfully cold now but have ordered new brake pads and rivets and last weekend drained the oil from that housing.Question though,as long as I have the steering clutch out, where can I get them checked out as to specs on the disks?Called cat in minn and the new boys(mechanics)don't have a clue on these older machines!Dave A

What you'll be checking is the stack height of the discs. This will be the distance between the two flat plates that sandwich them all together. If you've got your serial number, you should be able to find the info needed at the link below.....

Just found it by searching online. It's a good thing to have as the last time I called our local dealership I had to talk the young guy through what I was needing as he had never been into anything but a hydrostatic machine.

Good luck, and hope this helps.
