My question would be, are the new linings provided bored and counter bored for the the rivets? I am not sure how you space, and or set up to bore friction material for rivets, especially band type that are curved. That might be beyond what the average joe can do.

Cost savings might be available if you can send them out to a clutch/brake shop that deals in friction materials of components like these. Places like Kentucky Clutch, Rochester(NY) Clutch and Brake (80 years in business) Only issue and it may only be a question to me, will these shops know the correct material thickness? More than likely, but I wondered the same thing about the older D7 dry clutch friction segments, they must have reference material or a way to size correctly etc.

Given its a band, I am not sure if you can do those on one of the old Buffalo type manual rivet presses, one of which I have and according to the mfr tooling is still available for my model, for various rivet types etc.

I would think that possibly you could use bench top tools for setting rivets, but I'd lean more towards a clutch brake shop, given their experience and tooling
