I have a H3 Allis crawler loader, I think I tore up the right steering clutch,
parts are available, disks about $20.00 ea. but I don't have the big stuff to tear into it, and at
my age I don't know if I want to. the book says it can be done without removing the track?
I am guessing job cost between $1500.00 to $2000.00
I can transport if need be. to make it worth while I would get both sides done.

I have an h4 that I think is about the same thing. Replacing steering clutches and brake bands will cost around $400 for each side. Question is that the only thing wrong. If not and you hire it done you might get a big shock. Biggest wrench it takes is a 3/4. Curved screw driver the remove the clip. Bar to move the axle and lift to get it out or someone to help you to lift it out. If you have had experiences on that machine I would suspect an 8 hour day would get the job done. I would check with your local mechanic shops. Might find some one who wants to make a little extra money on the side. Not really a bad job and you can get help on here from people who has worked on a H3. Dozer places can get very expensive quick. Just my 3 cents worth.
