The original subject was "Re: Case 580B Backhoe".

580b manual that was available .pdf posted in 2011. Do you still have that available. I just picked up a 580B to use around the yard. The machine is slow to move. It has a 4 speed shifter on the floor and a forward-N-reverse lever on the left of the column. 1-2 it moves slow and in 3-4 it tries but doesn't have the power. I have to check fluids and filters, but I wanted to get some information on the drive and hydraulic circuits. I also need to work on the lighting and electrical circuits in the cab. The machine was a rental at one point. Has a rebuilt engine. good rubber. 2wd. needs some pin and bushing work. Missing the boom/main lock mechanism but otherwise looks good. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks,
Christopher

power shuttle needs rebuilt sounds like to me, you need a Case serivce manual to do the job correctly, you will need to memove the bachoe and backhoe mounts and split it at the front of the transmission right under the steering colum, if it has a factory cab the cab can stay on you will have to support it with a hoist, not all that bad of a job to me as compared to other brands of that era, does take some mechanical skills though,,,again if you chose to do it you need a Case serivice manual as it has step by step instructions

You can try the link below for the manual,it may be still there,if not come back and I will upload it again or email it to you, anyone else that wants a copy you are welcome to download it.

Raise the tractor up and let the wheels spin.Mine has to warm up for about 10 mins before it will move, then works ok.

Yes that link seems to be dead,it deletes the files thirty days after the last download, I have uploaded the file again, the new link is below,if it does not work I will try to email it to you,for that I would need your email.

I just ran across this post, searching for an illustration of the hydraulic pump setup on the front of the 580B engine, to give me an idea what I'll need to take apart to change the belt, and the coupler for the pump as the splines are stripped. If you still have a link for the manual please repost it if you get a chance, all the old links are dead. Thanks! Bill

AJ--- I have a 480D and I know the difference in it and the 580B.
Could you direct me to a similar manual for my 480D?

Thank you so much, AJ! That's just what I needed. About 20 years ago I photocopied the whole manual, and have no clue where it went and now there it all is right on the screen.

I'm limited to my capacity,I have split the manual to smaller sections and emailed it to you.
