John Deere 444 Wheel Loader

Looking at the JD 444 wheel loaders. Just for my own personal use--maybe load a dozen 10 yard loads out of a pit per year and push a little snow.

Had the Case W 7 and Case W 14 and really didn't like either of them also had two Hough H 60's , but didn't care for the straight frame machines.

Have a JD 4X4 BACKHOE and really like it. What are your thoughts on the 444 loader????

I know quite a few customers that have various Deere loaders. I rarely get calls to work on any of them. In other words, I don't know much about them, because I rarely have to work on them, ergo they must be pretty reliable.

Seriously, the Deere loaders seem to have a pretty good reputation around here. I can't speak to one specific model machine, but overall my customers that have Deeres seem to like them and rarely have any issues that I know of.
 
Deere makes a good loader for sure, but if you didn't like the W-14 I do not see why you want a articulated unit, the CASE does steer with the front half, other than that they will operate all but the same, if you like the backhoe/wheel loader I would stick with what you like, you can buy them without a backhoe attachment, I feel stay with what you like, you are not talking much use at all, I loaded out at times ten times that much a day when I was running loader, what you are talking could be done with a farm tractor loader,

Thanks fellas for your thoughts---case nutty---I will be 71 in Jan. and would rather have a piece of yellow iron to look at instead of 0 interest on cash in dabanker--------------I also have a great big ole M R S with the 4-71 Detroiter and it is just a yard piece for me to look at and enjoy..........But I sure do see your point and thank you...................
 
444 was popular around smaller log yards about 20 years ago. They manuvered better than the bigger loaders but still carried a good load.
