TD6 injection pump

Recently purchased an TD6. Has not run in 5 years. Cleaned points and runs fine on gas.cannot get to fire on diesel. The throttle control when moved does not move the lever on the side of the pump. Could this lever be stuck ? Could this be what you call a fuel rail? How rough can I get? The throttle lever does not go up to the wide open position. Any suggestions? Also are the track chains the same as a TD9.I need tracks. This is a loader with 4 speeds forward. I thought they all had 5 speeds . Thanks

First the td 6 and td 9 are a different track rail so no you can not use the nine rail. Now under the dash there at the end of the motor there is an L shaped with two little rods that does the swapping. Use wD 40 and free up all the linkage. No you cannot get rough with any of it very delicate and easy to break. Just start at either the motor or the other end and free up all the movement. If it is IN the fuel pump you will most likely have to have help. Go up to the engine and loosen one of the injector lines and see if you are getting fuel when you make the switch.

Thanks jm Please jump over to my post entitled: MD motor in the farmall ihc discussion board section and give me your opinion on my findings.Do you know a website that may help me getting tracks?

I went over and read the post, sounds like someone over there has you going. LAST thing I would do is go in the pump but you do as you want. Tracks are going to be hard to find, folks will always fix anything just to keep going but when the tracks go that is when it is junked.
