Ford 4500 front axle bushings

I have a early moldel 4500 tbl, it has been parked for 10 years in the shed. I need to get it going again, the front steering was so bad I had to raise the front end to turn the wheels. I bought new bushings back then and sense the ford dealer has
shutdown, no one around here works on them so I may try and tackle the project myself. Has anyone done this before? I think I
remember the dealer saying after they were installed the bushings still had to be reamed to size?

Are you sure the PS is working? 4500s usually have enough power to snap the bushings off if they're bound.

Yep, Im sure, the early model 4500s had the same pump/steering box as a 5000 farm tractor driving that heavy axle, later they changed to the better system they use now. I know because I bought a service manual online and the power steering section said to lookup 5000 farm tractor r steering for earily model 4500s, which mine is. Talk with a retired Ford mechanic confirmed this, as he said the pump/steering box wasbr>too weak for the 4500s front end wieght.
