Case 1150D trans oil filter blown O ring

This dozer belongs to a friend. Has the horizontal mounted trans oil filter right above the batteries in the back. It blew the O ring where the filter body mounts to the head, so he replaced filter and O ring. Blew it again after only a few hours running. Guy at Case dealership told him to remove filter and try it. He did and it worked for a while but now will blow O ring after only about 15 minutes run time before the oil has time to warm up. The only relief valve I see in the parts book is one in the trans hydraulic circuit cooling system. He always puts in a new O ring when it blows and says the ring seems to fit good in the groove. Does anybody have any ideas on what's going on? All thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

The bypass for a blocked filter is usually controlled by the spring that fits against the filter, try it without the filler cap or dipstick,in case any breather/s may be blocked, there should be no great pressure in the filter rather than the return to the tranny, check the lines going to the cooler to see none are damaged or closed up,make sure the o'ring groove is clean, that the head has no cracks or the cannister distorted.
