I have a Komatsu D 31 P having troubles to get it to turn to the right I've adjusted the brakes checked all the linkage look for leaks it will work sometimes and then quit it will work under a load sometimes and steep grades I don't think it's the clutches maybe the break and I also wonder about the joystick steering valve controlbody any advice or knowledge on this

Make sure the steering clutches are disengaging when you activate the control, the clutch must disengage before the brake comes on,see if the machine stops when you activate both steering clutch controls and adjust the clutch if need be.

How do I activate both steering crutches at once with joystick controls when I push my brake pedal and clutch pedal it goes all the way to the floor and there is no back pressure I tighten down both brake adjustments and back them off two turns yesterday and still made no difference .But when I did put down pressure on a blade or started cutting and then Try to turn to the right it would attempt to turn a little then won't. I was also told it could be some air in the lines or system but I don't know

Forgot about the joystick, check one side at a time, the clutch must be disengaging for the brake to stop the track.

I did what u said under a load it wants to try to turn. And th a motor does bog down when u push the brake but the brake has to be all the way to the floor before it try to grab. So I believe the clutch isn't fully engaging. Any other advise

By default the steering clutches are in constance drive,to turn the machine the clutch for that side must be disengaged and then the brake applied, you need to establish that the adjustment for the clutch and brake are correct, set the clutch adjustment and then the brake, the adjustment needs to be correct.

I understand how to adjust the brake by the nut in the back but can u remind how to adjust the clutch so I dont try to adjust the wrong thing

I do not have the manual, usually the clutch adjustment is at the top of the release bearing yoke, take the cover off and move the clutch control for that side and you should see what it pushes or pulls, there should be adjustment there.

That is what I was afraid of I was going to have to take the seat out and turned all the way down to take that top cap off

Some told me switch the hoses from the joystick that run to the brakes and clutches in the back of the machine to the opposite sides to see if the problem switch also. I did n so did the steering problem so I took the joystick control valve off n took it to a hydriloic shop they took it apart n couldn't find any thing wrong with it .does anyone have any advise bout this
