Checked through past posts and couldn't find exactly what I needed to find, sooooo, I would appreciate some input
from you guys!

Son's 410 backhoe was working fine, after warming it uo, I did some light hoe work grubbing out some small tree
stumps. I stretched out the hoe to grease it, and shut the tractor off. Hour later, started it back up and noticed
when folding the hoe up, the boom raised only 3/4 the way up, the bucket and crowd only folding in 1/2 way. Then the
bucket was slow and got slower the more I tried to use it, then the steering went!........now NOTHING works on the
backhoe or loader....Tractor still moves

It has been working great AFTER the son and I changed all the fluids and R&R power steering and crowd cylinder.
Coupler is still spinning at the crank pulley, but cannot see if the pump end is turning the pump shaft w/o taking
the rad off to expose the whole shaft
Also with the parts book and manual, it looks like there is a filter that's accessible under the D stroke housing.
Can It just be pulled out and cleaned?
I have no gauges, so I guess I'm looking for the, best logical approach to a fix

Some has mentioned a suction screen at the bottom of the trans case....would this be at the rubber hose that connects the trans filter body to the sump??
Feels like I'm grasping at straws!

I feel that someone on here could probably help you, but
for some reason they seem to want to keep it all to themselves.
Wish I knew something about JD's. Check type of fluids used,
fluid levels, any and all filters in hydraulic system. With
engine off, make a small mark on the coupling shaft with white
paint, turn engine or start it and see if the mark moves. You
can tell if it is turning. Good luck.

Not familiar with your machine but I think if you take you filler cap off your tank and start it up you should see a flow in your tank as the relief valve diverts the flow back to the tank when not in use. That will tell you the pump is working. It almost sounds like your low on fluid but apparently your not. Don't think a filter would cause what you have described. If you can see good oil flow then it may be your relief valve which would cause what you have described if you have some dirt in it. Look at your manual. It should give you some things to look at. Post back any questions or what you find. Norm in missouri

I can see the end of the crank turning the coupler assembly, but cannot see if the pump shaft is turning.....Gonna just drop coolant pull the rad so I can get an eyeball on it!

Few years back was a poster I think went by the handle of "JD Marris" He was a older JD equipment mechanic that knew his stuff, but left when there were a lot more agitators on here........one reason I have been gone for a while

At the front of the hydraulic pump, on the top, there may be a tee handle ( a roll pin thru a bolt) It should be up and snug. With the engine running, Turn it down till it's free, then down some more, 'till it turns stiff again.plus about a turn. This is the De-stroke valve, it turns the hydraulic pump off, when down. Engine sound should change. Then turn the valve back up to it's snug position, Now the pump should be engaged again.
Some models hae an electric solenoid on the side of the same housing, this does the same thing, when fed with 12 volts.
As others have said, the pump drive must be turning the pump, They are VERY noisy when stripped.
The hydraulic pump has no suction , it is fed by the transmission pump flow, combined with hydraulic system return oil flow.
Transmission pump must be working , if the machine drives.
Poor hydraulics can be caused by lack of oil flow from the hydraulic pump, or an internal oil leak somewere after the pump, that is dumping the pressure,( and building heat at one spot.)

Yes, the screen is behind that big plug, same size plug on the other side of the transmission case.

I had a JD 410 AND Now have a JD 410 C----TWO completely different machines. Do you know the year of your tractor and if it is just a straight JD 410????

MY 410 C is a 1989 and it was working perfect one minute and nothing the next. I had loaded about 20 --10 yard truck loads of heavy clay dirt. Drove into the pile and it would not lift the loader. Backed out and played with the lift control lever and got it to work , but it was working at maybe 75% of what it was doing.
The problem was the VERY expensive front mounted hyd. pump..........
