Just looking for opinions on these machines. Found one asking 6k . Everything is tight , runs well, no leaks , sprockets look good . Has clamshell bucket . Seems awkward to run but I guess like everything else you get used to it. Also says drott on the machine.

The 150 International was one of the most awkward loaders I ever operated , never did get used to it . I never want to operate a 150 again , you need to find a Cat 941 or a Case 850 .

fifty years old.. first of all that is a negative.. then when they were new they were not much so six thousand is too much in my humble opinion. I have been around ih all my life and hate to say something bad but there are certainly better choices out there for six thousand and with a little more you can have a lot latter model. Track loader are just about a thing of the past do not sell well at all. Excavators kind off took the market.

Thanks for input. It does seem very awkward to run. Probably gonna pass , the only reason i considered it was the clamshell bucket. It is a very tight machine for its age , but the cons outweigh the pros.

Mtny,
I don't have any experience with an IH 150- it did not sell in great numbers in the US, and finding new or used parts might be a challenge. If you are not going to put a lot of hours on it it does not matter too much if the controls are not as handy as some other machines. There is a guy (named Sean I think) that bought an IH 150 a few years back and did a few repairs and has done a lot of good work on his place with it- he posted on several dozer forums with lots of info and photos. The 4 in 1 bucket is hard to find and makes a crawler loader a much more versatile machine. If you could get the seller to knock off 1-2000 it would be a good buy. Seems like it would be a heavier machine than some of the JD and Case 450's. I have an IH 175c as a farm machine (with a 4n1)and it has done very well. Good luck with your decision.

I also would recommend the CAT 941 Traxcavator with a 4-in-1 bucket. I operated one when I worked for the County Road Department, great machine & easy to operate.
