310b Deere

Uncle asked me today if I knew any deere mechanics. He knows someone with a 310b backhoe for sale that just lost all hydraulics and drive. Shuttle shift I believe. Wont drive, no movement on the loader or hoe.

Someone told the owner about a filter or 2 down inside somewhere and supposedly he changed them but still nothing.

Any ideas what happened to it? He was just trying to get an idea what he might be in for if he were to buy it.

Can;t say I really know anything about that tractor, but both dying at the same time makes me think that maybe something with the hydraulic suction side? Maybe a tube feel off? I'd think that the shuttle and main hydraulic would be separate pumps, but maybe they share a pickup? Really you'd probably want to find a manual on it and trace the hydraulics out. Or it could be that the whole story is made up and they did something else to kill it.....
