555B Ford TLB Brake question...

Never been around a Ford hoe. Guy I know has one reasonable, and says that it "could use some brake work". How are the brakes set up on the Ford and how much of a pain and cost would it be to do common brake work?

My neighbor, has a 555D, needs new disks. You would think just pull the axle/ trumpet off the side of the rear end. But you would be wrong, the backhoe frame work will not let you so you need to drop out the rear end. Big, PITA, it's been in the planning/ round to it stage for more than a year and may stay their another. Just look it over to see if you want to tackle the necessary work, we sure could use a magic wand on this one.. LOL..

Almost makes me want to cry. I can't believe they were years enough into the game to have a better setup than that. Absolutely pitiful.

There is a lot of adjustment on them. Be surprised what couple turns will do. I have a 4500 that ate planentary and discs have lots of life in them.
