Case 450 C coming up for auction, no battery - been sitting for 4 yrs, tracks look good , how much to bid on mystery machine ??

Might pay you to take a good strong battery and try to spin it over, maybe try to see if it attempts to start or at least smokes some. Ideally it will start and you can see if it moves and the hyd work. If you can't do that, then bid scrap value.Figure 4 cents/lb,(machine should weigh about 12,000#)unless you want to drain all the fluids, separate the steel from the other metals. You may get lucky if you buy it and everything works, or you really aren't out much if the engine/trans/steering clutches/hyd. are toast

Would be nice, but can"t imagine it going for scrap price. Measure the actual track wear.....check out crawler heaven web site for specs. Good tracks would certainly be worth more than scrap, and someone else will be there that knows that. Would be good if you could throw a battery in, otherwise many unknowns. Saw a low hour State Forestry machine go for over 16 grand.
