I saw a 430 Case Davis scatbak for sale. looks like a nice little rig. 60 in. bucket, no welds, a few scratches nothing serious. My question is are these solid machines, reliable, how handy are they? I like the articulated steering, doesn't tear up the lawn like a skidsteer. They are asking $4250, is that a good ballpark price, don't know the hours. Or are these things a money pit?

I have a similar type machine, a Waldon 5000 loader. This type of machine gets real tipsy when you carry a large load and turn sharp, especially on any incline surface. The balance point changes real quickly as the rear weight moves to the side as you turn shortening the fulcrum point, versus the load that remains a constant distance from the fulcrum point. Because the seat is attached to the front of the machine it rises up and tries to pitch you out.. LOL.. always wear the seat belt. I probably have not explained it to well, but, you will know exactly what I meant after the first time it sneaks up on you and tips. To be safe, carry the load close to the ground..
