I am looking for information on an old rusty Caterpiller Grader on steel wheels. I only have a single set of letters and numbers from a single data plate. That number is 4-A-117.

Thanks in advance.

Might take a little research, the link below is from ACMOC. Adams, Russell and Highway Patrol are names that come to mind that pre date caterpillar in pull type graders, but I don't know much more than that, someone else probably does. Lot of them around and still in use though. I've seen one at a show being pulled by an RD7, was interesting to watch work.

Hey skycarp, Try the Historical Construction Equipment Association (HCEA.net). I am a volunteer down there and information is available.

Based upon your serial number 4A117, your grader is a Cat Model 35. Production on the Model 35 begain in 1930, the grader should have a 10' blade and weigh about 6,800 lbs.
