track came off JD450

Hello again ! the left track came real loose and came off the rear sprocket. I believe the seal went in the tension piston as i had only greased it 15 minutes before.
The question is will the track go back on without breaking it at the pin ? Can i roll it back on without jacking it up ?
I have a tractor and winch to help if need be>

Thanks

Could have popped a relief valve. I knocked a track off a 350 once. Pulled the plug, hitched onto the idler yoke and pulled it back with a tractor, and was able to work the track back on.

Usually depends on how much internal wear
your track has. A new tight track, not a very
good chance. A track with a little wear and
stretch to it, you should be able to. Release your
adjuster and push it pack with something, you
can use the blade and a block of wood if it has a
6 way blade. Put a rag over it to catch the
grease, been awhile, but I believe that adjuster
has a steel ball under the square head release
bolt that has (should) the jam nut on it. Then
again, like I said, its been awhile since I did
track work and I might be thinking of the
adjuster on a different model. Jack the back of
the dozer off the ground and put some heavy
timbers or blocks to hold the tracks off the
ground. Have someone on the dozer with it in
reverse, try to get the pads back around the
sprocket first, before you put it in gear. Then
hook a chain on the outside of the pad near the
top carrier roller, top side of track, and have it
hooked to a loader Tractor. Have the loader
Tractor on the inside of the track so that you
can pull the track towards the sprocket,
towards the inside. When the sprocket catches
the track in reverse, let it carry it your chain until
it is below the halfway point of the sprocket
before you stop the track to remove your chain.
That way the track won't fall off again. Once you
have you chain unhooked, put the dozer in
reverse and continue until the track is all the
way on. Usually, once you adjust a track, you
need to run it a bit and then readjust. Almost
always.

I had a lot of luck getting them to walk back on by reversing the direction that I was going in. In others words if it came off as I turned left going forward, I backed up turning to the right. Rolls right back on if it hasn't come off too far.
