hat model loader? Some require the Cat drivetrain oil, others you can use 30W or 15/40 diesel engine oil. We have some older 953/963's 930/950's we use 15/40 in everything, engine trans and hydraulics.

My loader is a 1976 920 -- so you just saved my $$$ by using 30 or 15/40 motor oil . I have used motor oil in hydraulics but I thought it would cause slipping in the trans .

Thanks --Larry

Cat recommends tdto4 oil in power shift transmissions now-less slippage and wear--you can find other brands that meet that spec--i use Phillips oil

Engine oil has changed. Use an oil company product that meets the CAT spec for your transmission. Mobil, Texaco, Phillips, Valvoline, ect. Just a bit more expensive than WM. Cheaper than rebuilding your transmission after the engine oil hastens its demise.
