JCB backhoe, shifting into four-wheel drive

1989 JCB 1400-C, Does anybody happen to know the procedure for shifting this tractor into four-wheel drive? Don't have access to the tractor myself, posting on behalf of my father, hopefully there's a picture attached.

Now that I see the picture the lever looks like its in the FWD position,to disengage it pull back a little and move it to the left and push it forward.

That's what I figured what I saw the picture. Asked him what he's having trouble with, apparently he's wondering about the pedal underneath the lever.
