Trying to move a IH 340 crawler with stuck tracks-Drug it 100 ft in middle of back yard with backhoe but will not go any farther-trying to get it into barn-got it on a rock sled -still no go -any ideas on how to move it before wife gets home on sunday and see's it sitting in the middle of the backyard LOL

If you can buy or rent some heavy duty steel channel or rectangular tubing...and lift one end of the machine - slip the steel under and it'll slide real easy. You just have to have enough steel to pick up behind and throw in front. The main thing is that you stay out of trouble with your wife LOL.

Just did a similar thing with a 500 C, as we were trying to load it on a trailer, it wasn't about to roll, stuck tighter than dick's hat band as they say!!. So here's the deal, we had already took off the plates over the brake band adjusters and backed them off and pounded them down. Thinking that would help, but no dice. So as a last resort we called a rollback tow truck to winch it up on his truck. He said it would be easier if we could jack up the front of the machine so he could get the end of the bed under the tracks to winch it on to his truck. Then a funny thing happened, as we jacked up the front of the machine with a bottle jack, it started to fall off the jack rolling backwards. To our utter amazement it was free and rolled a good foot or so. So here is my advice, loosen the brake bands, pound them down and give it a tug backwards. Towing it backwards will allow the bands to break free of the clutch pack housing or at least it did for us. No guarantee it will work but surely worth a try.

Jack up one side to clear the track from the ground. place 2 2x10 boards under the track with short pieces of pipe about a foot apart between them. Do the other side the same way. It will roll on the pipes. Be ready to lay more boards in front of the ones on the ground and move the pipes around to front as they come out the back.
