D2 3J injector lines -

Hello, I have a old D2 3J Cat dozer. The dozer has sat for a
long time and I am getting it running. I got the pony running
real good and now working on the diesel. I threw some fuel in
it and checked the fuel filter and filled that tower up with
diesel. I put some air in the tank and began to turn over the
diesel with the pony motor and loosened the bleed screws on
the pump one at a time. I also cracked the line coming out of
the pump as well to get the air out the line lines. After I had
fuel there, I tightened the line back up and now it leaks. I'm
thinking that it's probably time for new injector lines, as I have
a hunch they were leaking when it was parked several years
ago. Any tips to try before I get new lines for it. Also, one
more thing if I do need new lines, where is a good place to get
parts? I have heard that caterpillar still has parts for them but I
haven't checked yet. Is that true though that they still have
parts for them? Thanks for your help in advance

Cat has some parts and some are not available--you have to have the part numbers to check---you will need a parts book specific for the serial number of your machine--usually can be found on ebay---there are also after market and used parts suppliers for old cats.

Undo the pipe nut and see that the fixed washer that fits between the ferrule and the nut is still intact, sometimes those washers crack and fall off unnoticed,if they do there is no pinch on the ferrule and the pipe will leak, cheap fix is get a H/D spring washer the diameter of the pipe, spread it open and fit it over the pipe the ferrule side of the nut,put the spring washer back into shape, put the pipe on and tighten it up and see how holds,if the pipe is good look at the delivery valve holder for a crack, rust on the sealing area of the like.
