Working on these crawlers some times takes a strong wrench to break the bolts. I have two air impact 1/2 inch wrenches I use. one is a craftsman and the other I think it s cansfield. don't know the torgue but I think its probably 250. I am think about buying a stronger one. What do you all use as far as maker, torgue, etc. ive seen some huskys, 800 lb torgue on ebay as well as some 500lb torgue wrenches. Didn't know if they were good or not. All comments welcome. My strength isn't what it use to be so wanting to get something better than what I have. thanks Norm in Missouri

My nephew has several air impacts, but the one that works the best for him is the "Earthquake" air impact that he bought from Harbor Freight because of the extra torque. He bought the 1/2" several years ago; I see that HF now has a 3/4" "Earthquake" impact as well.

pinball I owned a tire shop for 22+ years there is only 1 brand of air wrench that will stand up to hard everyday 7 day a week pounding--Ingersoll Rand. As the old sayings go they can be worked hard and put away wet, but they just keep on tickin.

I use a snap on mg 725 gun at the shop, 1100 lbs breakaway torque. The ir is a nice gun too. Also have an ir one inch drive long barrel for truck tires.

X2. IR was the only one that would stand up to undercarriage work for me. Thousands of bolts a week, in and out, rebuild them when they got tired, use them for parts when the hammer cage breaks

Got to be different than everybody else. I have a CP 1 inch that

works very well, fellow that worked for me had a 3/4 CP that would

do as much as an IR and was quieter and used less air, it did

that much work on a 3/8 hose where an IR needs a 1/2 in hose .

I have an IR 1 1/2 inch and it likes at least a 3/4 hose.

and ill be more different yet, 3/4 and 1/2 inch air cats have yet to let me down. I had been using my 1 inch IR semis but the 3/4 air cat does the trick.

I have two impact's , one is a C/P745 and a C/P 1 inch truck tire gun . The 745 was one of the last U S built guns and it is plum animal , it was suppose to be a 600 ft.lb gun and the big one inch one is the same way they both will plum twist off bolts . I use the one inch one now for loosening up arbor bolts on disc gangs and also to tighten them back up . The 1/2 one will break a 5/8th bolt with not problem . one time a Snap on guy was trying to sell me a new snap on gun that he claimed had the most torque of all the half inch guns and he set out to prove it to me . He took a grade 8 fine thread bolt and placed a nut on it in a vice and ran the nut down on the bolt as tight as he could get it on my air line that had 90 pounds pressure and siad there now show me how ell your OLD gun can remove the nut . Hooked the OLD gun up to the air line and switched sockets and buzzed the nut off with no problem then i put it back on the bolt and said to him now show me how well your gun will remove it . His gun could not even budge it . To add insult to injury i showedf him just how fast mine would twist that bolt in half. The one inch gun is like Burger King as it take BOTH HANDS to handle it at 90 PSI and god help ya if you hook it to unregulated air . As it twisted off a half dozen inner nuts on bud wheels before we figured out that not having a regulator on it was a really bad idea. I bought a brand new semi tractor year back and the deal was that i wanted polished aluim. wheels throwen in on the deal . The dealer said ok but i was the one that was going to have to do the dismount and remount of the tires and install them myself . so i bought this C/P one inch gun . On the first wheel i twisted off the first four so fast i could not believe it . So i figured i was doing something wrong . so i asked the local truck tire guy to come down and show me what i was doing wrong . After we cut the broken inner nuts off the studs he took my wrench and he was holding it like he did with his big guns and he hit the trigger and when it hit bottom it litterly spun him around and twisted his wrist . Plus it twisted off that inner nut at 120 PSi . both of those guns were bought in 1977 . No they do not get used everyday and neither one has been in for a rebuild and they still work.

A 3/4 ingersol rand pretty darn stout. Something around 900ftlbs. If your busting off tires then buy a 1" impact used by tire shops. Remember to watch out for guns that use high CF ratings most farms don't have a big enough air compressor to run them
