diesel injection pump

Most likely the injection pump needs repair, retainer ring is breaking apart in small bits plugging the return valve. Confirm by taking the two screw side cover loose allowing fuel to leak out while running, if it runs better without shutting down or losing power you found the trouble. Best get it repaired before the retainer pins shear off, then wrecking the pump and breaking the drive shaft, gets really expensive then..

Why the new pump,is it from the dealer or fuel injection shop, what was the problem with the old one, those skid steers are a right SOB to work on,does yours have an electric shutoff or a pull stop,if its a pull stop check that the stop control is moving fully to the run position,if electric check the solenoid is working,I take it the filters are clean, with that system the fuel is siphoned through the filters by the injector pump transfer pump, any restriction in the filters starves the pump of fuel, the pump timing is correct I presume, does it start run properly, usually new and rebuilt pumps are checked on assembly and work as they should,it's a right pain if you got to change it again, with fuel related problems I always start at the tank, checking the flow out right the way through to the injector pump.
Good luck
