Stripped a few teeth off the ring and pinion on my late 1970's Case 480c backhoe, its a power shuttle. looking to see if anyone with in a days drive of southern Michigan has a parts machine laying around that they would be willing to sell the ring and pinion out of or the complete trans axle. The machine is in to good of shape for me to off it, but some of the dealer prices are making me super sick to my stomach. I bought her from a local dealer and was very pleased with the machine and price. I got her as is, and I know what that means. I kept hearing a ping noise every time I used the right brake, I discover the oil seal bad and the right brake was sticking. This winter I rebuilt the complete brake system. Used it to pick rocks last weekend, and started hearing the ping again. Well that ping quickly went to a grinding and then rolling backwards when we should be going forwards. It's had a bad ring and pinion from day 1 when I bought it a little over a year ago. Oh well, that's what as is means. I'm sure the dealer did not know. So if anyone has a 480c or a 580c I'd appreciate it.
