Next week on publicsurplus.com a 1942 IH T9 will be put up for auction. I don't have the SN with me but looked it up last week while on site. The unit was started and driven last fall, we didn't attempt to start it for the auction photos. This T9 served its entire life with the Indiana Department of Correction on a prison work farm pulling logs, it's equipted with a Woods Bros PTO driven winch. Sometime in the late 1980s it was abandoned when the operations shut down. My heavy equipment operators found it in 2000 or so and lifted it onto a lowboy with a crane, took it back to our heavy equipment shop, rebuilt the starter and carb and had it driving around, changed all of the fluids. It's been started occasionally to move around the shops to allow for maintenance of other equipment, but that's it. I'm a collector, but am legally prohibited from bidding since the shop is a part of my operation. I would really hate for it to go to scrap, take a look. It's all original.
