We need a bigger excavator for digging irrigation canals in Cambodia i found this Cat EL 300B that came from Japan. I can't find the serial number. But they say mid 90's model.

The engine sounds ok, no blow-by, no bubbles in radiator, swing bearings seems tight, tracks are worn but will work for a year, hydraulics are strong, good 3+yard bucket. What is something like this worth. Anyone with any experience with them? Are they a decent machine? Asking $30,000US

It is a good machine in that it is very dependable and easy for that size machine to work on. Product support is good with oem and aftermarket parts. You will have to find the serial number though to order parts, most times it is at the base of the boom or just inside the cab door. If not get the engine serial number and they might be able to track it that way. The main thing is undercarriage, make sure the end of the bushings are not wore out in the rails. This were they wear on excavators. The price is fair.

Thanks, I think bushings and pins can be turned and lubed. This is the advice I need. Any idea what engine model they used?

3306 engine check tracks closely, the last thing you want to do is run a 67000 lb machine out of its tracks in the mud
