Oc3 skips on one side?

I bought a non running oc4- with an oc3 transaxle in it. Got it running, repaired the main clutch and drove out of the shop. The right side "skips". It will pull for a second and then quit for a second and repeat. Left side pulls normal, and if you turn to the left it smooths out until the turn is done. I wouldn't think a missing tooth on a gear would act like this, maybe bad bearings letting gears come come out of mesh? Do you think this in the transaxle or final? Thanks for any help.

The OC-3 used a diff. like in a car or truck so you have something in a bind on that side like maybe the steering clutch is to tight or some such thing. I owned an OC-3 and have an HG.

It could be the differential falling apart, or something coming apart in the final drive on one side. I'd pull the back over off the trans and look inside. If there's anything wrong with the differential, you'll be able to see it.

JD- I had to laugh at the way you worded that! While true, it's probably not what anyone wants to read!!!

True, but it easy enough to pull the cover and see. Part of being a mechanic is breaking bad news, and I don't waste much time being delicate about it.
