JD 350C crawler- flywheel isolator plate breaks springs

Hello, I have a 1980 350C crawler loader and the isolator plate has broken springs twice in 700hrs. Has anyone else had problems with this plate, does any one have suggestions as to what may be causing these failures. A new plate eats up a big chunk of a $1000 bill.
Thanks.

We had a few brand new 350Cs do it when still on the lot and never sold yet. NOT once of Deeres better ideas. Setup on the 1010s and early 350s, as well as on 350Ds is better.

That being said, do it RIGHT and it will last a lot longer then 700 hours.

Open ends of the outer spring hooks MUST have the open ends facing against rotation.

The fiber facing on the anchor plate MUST have it's fiber facing in place. With many, it falls off.

Inside and outside anchors must have no wear, same for the springs. Also need to use Loctite on the anchor bolts

Also have to make sure the input shaft on the reverser has no more then .002" end-play.

Man ,that is a shame , I didn't know the 350's have this problem , I will never buy a JD350 , I have all Case equipment 450's three and a 580B . They wear very well with very few repairs .

Go here and read. I believe he has come up with a workable solution. A number of people are waiting to see if it works which will allow you to get rid of that issue.

John Deere already came up with a "workable"
solution. Their engineers came up with a new solid
isolator that was used in 350Ds and newer but
backfit onto 350Cs. It has proven to work fine.
Issue is the price and availability of those parts
now since even parts for crawlers as new as 350Ds
are being discontinued. The spring and anchor
system the guy has now can be made to work fine if
done correctly.

As Dr. Loch has said I am close to done with D model isolator and flywheel update, all new parts. Still going to be a month or so I would guess, waiting on broaching and heat treating. Don't have all costs nailed down, but hoping $1500 or under for flywheel and isolator.
