Case 1835C Skidloader

Can anyone point me in the right direction to troubleshoot an issue with my skid loader. Whenever I use the hydraulics it bogs down the motor. Not so bad when lowering the bucket, worse when lifting. Seems to run ok when sitting and idling, does bog a little when moving forward or backward. Let me know what you think.

Sounds as if the engine has an issue,it it gas or diesel,if diesel is the fuel filters clean, air cleaner etc, tell us what engine it has.

It has the TM20 gas engine, 3 cyl. I haven't changed the air filter for a few years, probably time to do that anyway. Might as well change the fuel filters also. Anything may help.

Yes a tune up may be needed, change the fuel and air filter, there is an in line filter before the carburettor, change the spark plugs, there are no points as it has electronic ignition, when you know the engine is running right see how it is then.

Well, don't know how to check the governor. Any advice. The first thing I'm going to do is change the filters, both air and fuel. Some of the fuel lines seem a little soft so I'm going to change all of those as well. Just start with the simple less expensive stuff and work my way up. I did notice one things, with the new air filters I got, they come with a metal washer that says they must be used. My old filters don't have the washer. Don't really know what effect the washers missing would have to do with anything.

no advise as I have a 1830 model with a renalt motor that I have been working on for some time..When I bought it it only need a starter..LOL..still slapping my knee on that one.. Any who. mine has a belt driven gov. on it which has a lever that attaches to carb. Assuming that when carb throttles back under load gov is suppose to keep it or increase the linkage to increase rpms..I have had mine running and seems to run fine just needing some fine tunning but when I did dig motor really lose power so being I have done alot of work that will be on the list.. I would try the tune ups etc. dirty air can cause alot of problems and easy fix.. good luck let us know

Right now mine has 2 fuel filters on it. They look like the ones on a riding mower. I should pull out my service manual and check for the right location and get the right fuel filter.

I have personally spent many hours chasing this problem. One way to easily rule out the filters and a restriction in the tank, which I have found before, is to buy a 12 volt electric fuel pump from Autozone and some hose. Hook this directly to your carb. (gas burner) or injector pump (Diesel). Stick the hose in some clean fuel from a can and crank it.Move your hydraulics to load the engine. If no change, you have other problems, if it runs like a champ look for a bad fuel supply pump or a restriction. Hope this helps.
