WHAT IS IN 2 STROKE OIL?? WOULD 10 WEIGHT NON-DETERGENT DO SAME THING?
CASE 1450..BE BLESSED, GRATEFUL, PREPARED, NIK

I use non detergent motor oil for diesel additive. Oil is fuel for a diesel, my thinking is additives may not be good for seals etc.

No, the diesel two strokes and gas two strokes differ a great deal, the lubrication for the gas two stroke is added to the fuel, the diesel two stroke has a an oil pan and oil pump much the same as a four stroke, you need 40 wt oil,the Mobil book says Delvac 1240 for the Detroit 4-71 etc and the Shell T1 40.

Of course I am down in west Texas but I used Delo 100 40 wt. in my John Deere 440ICD with the DD 2-53. That is what I found at the local distributor for low ash oil. Yes that is 100 not 400.

NO it will not work you need low ash diesel oil. I did not know they ever put a 2 stroke diesel in a Case.

I don't know how well it works. It's not been tested as far as I know, and different brands have different additives, so one may work better than another.

I've used motor oil to fill truck filters when I didn't have fuel handy.

A gallon of tcw3 at wally's-mart is $12. Hard to find anything for less than that.

Hd6gtom,it is a Case engine he has in his 1450, he knows we know about on here as we been trying to give him the odd bit of advice in the past.
