JD 450b Sight glass

Hello, I picked up a 71 JD 450B. Everything works for the most part. But the hydraulic resevior sight glass is very cloudy. To the point i can't tell anything at all. On the fill port there is a mesh screen. So I'm wondering how I verify fluid level ????? I figure one of you you fine people have run into this before. Thanks

Might be over filled now and it's the oil you see in the sight gauge,raise the bucket or blade and see if the oil drops down,other than that with the bucket/blade on the ground,open the filler to relieve the pressure and you can remove and clean/replace the sight glass,other than that you will have to remove the hydraulic filter it is under the top cover of the tank with the filler attached to it.

Thanks , with a little luck I can get.out there and spend a few hours playing catch up on the maintenance. I did a bit yesterday and found low fluids, loose bolts and every zerk needs a squirt or twenty.
