what is included in jd part # AR69810 kit

i am trying to find out what parts and what parts are available to replace my old cdc/cbc injector pump with a JDB pump.
Dealer says i need part # AR69810 and AR50896 and AT27616
but they cant tell me if it includes the shaft conversion to timing gear or not and injector lines, etc and the pump of course!

HELP please

First of all - or you sure the old pump is a
CDC and not a CBC? I ask because the way those
two pumps attach to the engine differ. As I
recall (you can check) . . the CDC bolts to the
timing gear with three special, hollow, "shear"
bolts The newer CBC does not and uses a
special "shear drive-shaft" instead.

A DBG or JDB uses a driveshaft with a tapered
and keyed end that fastens to the timing gear
with one big nut.

When Deere changed over at the factory - a new
timing gear was used. Also a different size
engine mount with different spacing for the two
3/8" bolts. Also used all different injection
lines, throttle hookup, etc.

The "change-over" kit that Deere sold for
conversions out in the field came with this. A
rebuilt DB pump with a special "conversion"
driveshaft inside of it that was special made
to bolt up to a CBC or CDC type timing gear.
Also new injection lines. Also a specail
horseshoe bracket so the DB pump would fit the
CBC or CDC mount on the engine. Also new small
pieces to make the throttle linkage work, and
fuel lines hook up.

Note that if you get a pump with that special
conversion shaft - like MAYBE you just had - it
is rare. Those shafts are no longer made.

Thank you for the info ! according to the parts list book my pump is a cdc 431. The end of the pump (it is still on the dozer) is probally about 1.5"round and fits into a matching end in the dozer. I am going by memory so it could be bigger/smaller I believe it has a key like part that fits into the flywheel casing in my book that part is 26241
my entire pump part # is AT22628 cdc 431.
My pump bolts on with 2 bolts onto the casting.

The JD dealer says i need the db pump of course plus AR 69810 which is listed as a kit, but no exact contents of the kit.The million dollar question is is the conversion shaft included in the kit.

When they run AR69819 it says to use SE500553 and AR69810 + AR50896 + AT27616 They say thats all i need ! i dont believe them !

It would be easier i guess if i had the old pump off but the machine is outside and i want to start it and move it inside to do all the work. ( TOO COLD here to start it right now)
Thanks again for all your help.

The CDC pump you have now is attached to the timing gear in front of the engine with four bolts. Three are special hollow shear-bolts and the fourth non-hollow. That timing gear is Deere # T24772.

DB or JDB pumps attach in a totally different way and use timing gear # R84663.

The ONLY way to attach a DB or a JDB pump to your timing gear is with the special conversion shaft that uses the four bolts via the old C type timing gear. Those shafts have not been made in years. If Deere actually has one maybe it's part of an old kit. The kit used to come with a rebuilt pump with that conversion shaft already in it. Have the parts guy look that the parts (if possible). The pump shaft MUST have a round flange with 3-4 bolt holes to work for you. A DB-JDB shaft (not conversion) will just have a tapered end with threads for one nut and a keyway. Totally different.

Thanks for the info. I got a breakdown of the kit and the shaft or the 2 clamps ar69420 are not in it.
i uploaded a pic of the 2 pumps and my existing pump being the top one and the db on the bottom.
On the cd pump you see a wide round end and on the db a smaller round shaft.
On the cdc the 2 bolt flanges are only out to the sides and the other is round with 3 bolt holes.
These are exactly like my existing and what they sent me

I think i am sol on the shaft!
Any suggestions ?

If you cannot get the conversion shaft, there are only two options (not counting scrapping the machine). Find a used CDC or CBC pump (waste of money in my opinion). Or - find a scrapped machine with a bad engine and buy all the parts at once. Timing gear, pump and shaft, lines, etc.
Note the new timing gear is still probably available from Deere. The new driveshafts are also around. They show up on Ebay now and then. Plenty of 3 cylinder pumps around too. The rest you could easily fabricate if needed.

You need a parts machine like a 380 forklift, 350, 350B, or 350C crawler, or 830, 1020, 300, 301, 302, 310 wheel tractor.

Last time I was at MacFadden's tractor salvage yard - there were several Deere 350s there. If you can't find anywhere else - he's worth a phone call. He is expensive though. Also - the guy who answers the phone sometimes does not know what is really in the scrap yard. I used to live 20 miles away and knew of many parts that the part's man did not.

Ok thanks for the info. How difficult is it to change the 48 tooth drive gear? the one my book says is #20165 that fits a db pump is on Ebay>

Thanks
