How to tell Oliver spot turn from standard transmission?

If I am looking at an oc4 transmission and differential out of the
tractor, how can I tell what it is? How can I tell an oc3
transmission apart from these? I believe the shift pattern is
cast in oc3 transmission casting, is this right? How about oc4?

The OC 4 has 4 speeds and the OC 3 has three. I think the shift pattern is cast on the OC 4 as well. In any case the OC 4 shifter is on the case. The OC 3 shifter is on the cover plate at the transmission side. There are two OC 4 cases an early and later. The numbers are cast on the case. I don't have the number handy. The early case was planetary steering only, the later case could be either. Take off the back cover plate and have a look inside.
