what do yall think of this cat 955k

here is a cat 955k i would like to buy but have a few questions about it. the u/c looks real good to me what do yall think about it, on the smooth bucket could i put teeth on it and it be same as a factory tooth bucket or is it thinner or something else? any bad things about these particular models?

Looks like a $10,000 machine , muffler moved a little , could be a $250.00 elbow , may be other issues not seen. Looks good.

looks sound--right lift cyl. may need resealing
seems to be quite a bit of black smoke from idle to fast

Model wise they were pretty good, spent a lot of time on one just like it.

That unit had a good life and they are tough machines . They gave way to skid steers up here in the north but the private owners still use them around farms and gravel pits . I would buy it .

how about adding the teeth, i think that would help alot while pushing brush and stumps up.

The bucket looks like its a rehandling bucket and not as beefy as I would like,you can add teeth,Cat do weld on shanks with pin on tips,the cab is not ROPS,the doors and all the glass as well as the engine side guards are missing,the track chains and pads look good but the bottom rollers look to be down to the pin bosses,it may be the angle that the picture was taken at that makes it look that way,the smoke may clear up after a bit of work and a service,the 955K was a fair good machine but without a 4 in 1 bucket you can't use the machine to it's full potential.

I think you and I have talked about this before , but a loader now days without 4&1 bucket is just dead weight. They will not sell nor will it do the work you want to do. I figured you had found something by now. I know you were looking a 941s and 931s. That one looks high to me.
