Hello Guys, I'm new to the site and have been reading and decided to register In hopes you guys can help me learn about my Dozers. I've started farming and clearing land so I bought a TD15c about a 1981 model and a komatsu D21p-7. My questions are mostly concerning the TD15c.
#1- under the seat is a long dipstick. Is this the transmission stick and what do I put in it?
#2- hydraulic tank is incorporated with the diesel tank, it uses 10W hyd fluid?
#3- where is the filter for the hydraulic fluid?
#4- where is the grease zerk for tightening the tracks?
#5- engine was changed out to a dt466 turbo. There are 2 filters on the right side of the motor, threads facing downward. I assume is the twin oil filters? And it would seem the oil would run out of them facing down. Just puzzles me. Are these for motor oil?...
#6- twin fuel filters on the left side of the motor correct?
#7- I found a pdf spec sheet on my Komatsu D21p on the net that is helpful. Still trying to find one on the TD15c. I'm searching from my phone due to delay of internet installation , maybe I can find some info when that's hooked here at the farm, but some helpful links would be appreciated.
#8- I found out how to check and fill the finals by some threads here. And they use 90-w gear oil?
Anything else I need to know ? And positive advise would be appreciated. Thank you Guys!

I am 73 years old and have a lifetime experience with ih dozers. Could sit here and type all your answers but would be easier for me to just call you. You say you are new to the forum just click on my jm. and you can send me an e mail direct with your phone number and I will call you on my dime and talk dozers.. jm.

Engine has not been changed out IF you have a true 15C it came form the factory with a ih 466 turbo engine. The td 15b had the 261 or 407 engine. Yes oil filters are inverted. and fuel filters on the other side. Transmission should not be UNDER the seat but on the right beside the seat UNLESS you have a gear drive Non power shift unit which is rare. Hydraulic tank is somewhat as you say incorporated in the fuel tank but really just sits there beside the fuel tank. There is a hydraulic filter under the plate there on the top of the tank. Now the transmission filter could be one of two places depending on the serial number of the unit. First ones are under the floor board left of the u joints latter ones out side you left elbo as setting in the seat. Track adjustment is under a small cover on the idler yoke right behind the idler. Remove two 3/4 bolts and remove the cover or if the cover is gone take a screwdriver and dig out the dirt in the TWO holes one to relive the pressure and one to put the grease in.

Here's a link to a current Ebay auction for a TD15c operators manual. http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTERNATIONAL-TD-15-C-TD15-Crawler-Operators-Manual-IH-/300491452602?pt=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item45f6afb0ba

It'll probably be the best $25-30.00 you ever spend.

Got it Bret and thanks.

I Want to say Thank You to "jm." he has been very helpful to me on this dozer. reminds me of my grandpa, who once talked me thru a repair over the phone while i broke a ford 3000 tractor in half.. knowledge like that is fading away and we younger generations need to listen to our older buddies.
Thanks jm...
