T340 Crawler Engine Swap

Ok guys, new to the site and hope someone can help me out with a little info as I am a Ford Tractor guy...
I bought a t340 Crawler with a bad c135 gas engine. Pulled it and bought one out of a local salvage yard that was also a C135 but the bell housing was different. Mine had a straight sides and the "Salvage" purchase had a Round bell housing. Anyway they accepted the return with out a problem.
Since then I have been on the look out for a diesel 166 or a 135 to replace it with and finally I think I have found something. I want y'all to look over this add and let me know if this engine will work in my Crawler please as I think the 188 shares the same physical block. Please let me know all the info I need.

This is a Case motor no relation to IH motor only engine i know is 340 crawler maybe you should look into fixing your motor
 
CH I am glad you chimed in. I was going to tell him a 188 case engine was in no way kin to the ih engine but thought maybe he knew something I did not. I had a ih salvage yard for years and though I knew about the 340s. Probably parted over 10 of the things.
Myself I would not spend the price of an engine on any 340 out there. Gets the engine fixed it will be something else. Just a big money pit.
 
The TD340 diesel engine is a 166 IH. I have a c135 block if interested. I am near the jct of I95 & I40 in N. Carolina.
 
Thanks for the info guys. Figured they were different but was hoping it would work. Will probably just end up selling the ol girl. The original engines crank was worn to bad to be machined and the crank was woworse off than it should have been too. Probably just sell her to a friend who has three.
