John Deere 310g fuel system sucking air

My father in law has an 06 JD 310g TLB. He changed the fuel filter and after priming it wouldn't start. So a friend and I ended up removing the tank/fuel pump line and connected a garden hose to the primer pump and a five gallon jug of fuel. Primed it, bled the injectors and it fired and ran fine.
Went to connect the JD fuel line to the primer pump and it was no start. It was sucking air again. Removed the fuel line tank to primer pump and inspected the fittings. It appears the line fitting is flared like a brake line and it also appears the fitting on the primer pump is conical on the inside. Is this factory JD fittings? The fuel line and it's fitting seem original but I wonder about the brass fitting on the primer pump side.

Has this machine the fuel tank with the supply line coming off the fuel gauge sender unit on top of the tank,if so its got a pickup pipe going down to near the bottom of the tank inside, that pickup pipe has a strainer on it that could be blocked, also the pickup pipe could crack and draw air,to remove the sender note the location of the lines, remove them and then the sender unit and check things out, check the tank vent, looking at the parts drawing the fittings on the feed pump look like they are the compression type, nipple screwed into the pump that the pipes connect to.

We put in all new seals and it's still sucking
air. We connected a clear hose to the end of
the John deere tank to primer pump line and
filled it with fuel to see if it would drain
back indicating a leaky tank to primer line but
the fuel held steady so based on that I figure
the fuel tank to primer pump line is ok. We are
obviously missing or overlooking something as
its still sucking air. We need some more help
here guys lol

We finally nailed it down and this was all thank to AJ's post. The fuel that ran from the tank to the primer pump had a split in it. That's where it was drawing air and why it never primed. Got a new line last night and she runs like a champ.

Thank you AJ for your help!!
