help with 175c identification and specs

Hello,

I searched online and cant find the year this model of track loader was made, but I did find this site.

Tag on track loader says

International-Hough Div.
Dresser Industries, Inv.
Libertyville, Illinois
Model Type
175C

Serial No.
4290004U004024X

What year was this made and what else can you tell me about this track loader? Source for manuals?

engine has water in the oil so that will be first project

Thanks for your help getting a year and the specs for this machine.

"frosted brassica", hello and welcome
The 175C's were built 1972 thru 1990 or so. Yours is a 1985 per the s/n guide I have. The 175's were great loaders.
Should have a DT466 or DT466B engine which were/are good engines. They are a wet sleeve engine so that could be one source of the coolant in the oil. Pull the pan and valve cover and pressurize the cooling system before further disassembly and take a look up inside. If I remember right the pan can be removed in the chassis but not 100% on that.
have fun with it.

I have owned a bunch of them. As the other guy says probably have a sleve leaking BUT one more common source is the engine oil cooler on the side of the engine. If you do not see water dripping when you pull the pan maybe the oil cooler. Me I would not pull the pan just drain the oil and wait a day or so and see if water is dripping out the drain. If so you have a sleeve o ring bad. Oil cooler has to be removed from engine but easy to check.. IF you have to pull the engine. send me an e mail have a lots of experience and can save you some hard work.

Thank you both for the age and suggestions...it will be a bit before we tear into this one, but I will be back here for more tips depending on what we find.

Thanks to you both for your generosity in replying.

Hi. I know this thread is over 3 years old. I to have an identification challenge with a 175c crawler loader. The owner says there is a dt466 in the machine but I'm not sure. The S/N of the machine is 42900014001989. If you can help that would be great!

Thank you

Good morning toddchas, The 175C, is a 1974 and all 175C's came with DT466 engines. Could have something else today I suppose.
