Steering brake not turning

Have same problem with ih T6. I think my problem is because it has a left hand-hand clutch. when operating people would ride that break thinking it was a foot clutch, so the break is worn out. Might be yours to.
That's just my thought no facts to back it up.

have the machine going forward and pull back on both steering levers without touching the brakes--the machine should stop if both clutches released---if one doesnt it will turn to the opposite side--in your case the left clutch may not be

It will not turn either way when you pull back on the levers it stops the crawler. It has no brake pedal on the floor.

then both clutches are releasing and the problem is most likely with the left brake--check linkages, band adjustment and brake lining

i have found service manuals on ebay--don't know of a web site for Case--I have all Cats and there is an online parts store

As I recall, Case 350 crawler uses the same
transaxle and steering brakes as a Terratrac or
Oliver/Cletrac. Made by Clark Corp. No clutches.
Just a differential with a brake band on each
side. If one side won't steer then one brake is
not grabbing.

thanks--i never heard of a dozer without some sort of steering clutch--learn something new every day!!

I have a case 310 which has the same set up. No there is no steering clutches. When you pull back on your lever does it feel as the other does. If not then you may have a linkage problem, if it isn't then adjusting it might cure it, if not then replace the brake band. That machine will not as sharp like a machine with steering clutches but its not as hard on tracks, bearings as the others with clutches. Your problem really is an easy fix. Norm in missouri

Here some images showing what the Clark trans
looks like and what the differential and brake
bands look like.

I will be curious what you find. I have a 310 that all the sudden only moves if I apply the brake/turning bands and only turns to the right. I pulled the rear cover and everything is good. I had previously replaced the turning belts a while ago. It just all the sudden did this. I have a neighbor coming over tomorrow to pull me out of this hole I am in... If the brakes are not applied is seems like something is slipping? Somewhere.
