Spool valve for lift is leaking a steady stream. Is
it rebuildable? How do you get the ram out of the
bore? does it go out the big nut in the "back" of
the spool?

Thanks for any input.

I cannot remember what exactly is on the AC but by the rule of thumb the spool valve is held in place by the centering spring on the bottom end of the valve, the spring will be inside a cap, after cleaning around the top and bottom the cap can to be removed, once out of the way the spool can be pushed down past the top O'ring, pick out the O'ring and fit the new one,put some hyd oil on it,push the spool back up,put the cap on and connect the lever, keep things clean.the valve can be mounted in any position so I'm calling the top the end the lever is connected to.

Hard to tell if it was factory or aftermarket. Doubt that AC made the valve; look it over closely for some marks or numbers that could point to a valve manufacturer.

Had a look today at what old parts manuals I have,I have HD3.4,6,7 & 12, it does not say in any of them who makes the control valve,by the look of the one fitted to the HD4 I would say Cessena, the HD4 has a screw on cap over the centering spring and the 6 cap is held on with four bolts, whats on the five I forget but all valves are basically the same, you will see in the attached drawing which is of the HD4 valve lift section, the HD5 may be similar, the spool size is 7/8" on the 4, in case they are the same I put the AC # and size of the O'Ring, with the lever disconnected, cap off the other end, just push the spool in past the O'Ring, pick out the ring and fit the new one
