580 ck valve body

Have a case. 580 ck backhoe- it has hydraulic leak at valve for hoe controls- seems to be coming from around rubber boot where control lever hooks to valve. Can this be fixed while in the machine ?? Looks like a real project to remove all HUD hoses to remove valve

Yes the o'ring on the leaking valve can be replaced with the valve in situ,you will have to remove the linkage and rubber boot from the spool,clean around the spool valve thoroughly,clean around the bottom cap,remove the two bolts holding the cap,have a container underneath as there will be some oil spillage,lower down the spool till its below the top o'ring,pick out the old ring and install the new one,put some oil on it and push the spool up,put on the bottom cap and the top parts,attached is the drawing of the parts,the ring that is leaking is item #9.the part # is D36830 seal,there is two on each spool one at the top and bottom,to replace the bottom one the centering spring has to be removed from the spool,keep everything clean,parts tools and your hands.
