310C clutch plate install

I have a new clutch plate on the way to put in my
310C. When I got the crawler I replaced the
pressure plate but put the old plate back in just
to see if it would move but now what to put in a
new plate. Old pressure plate was ruined by mice
and I found a NOS one at the local Case dealer
when he sold out. I have a service manual for the
crawler but when it comes to the section for
adjusting the clutch it says refer to the manual
for the 300 series wheel tractors, which I don"t
have. What do I need to adjust or do when I put
the new plate in? Thanks

The only adjustment is external, the pedal should have between 7/8" and 1 1/8" free play, the rod going from the pedal is where you adjust it,loosen the jam nut, take the clevis pin out and screw the yoke in the desired direction, most people settle for an inch free play, clevis pin back and tighten the jam nut.

If you are fitting a new pressure plate assembly the fingers are adjusted at the factory and need no further adjustment,if you are just fitting the pressure plate alone and are using the old cover, springs and fingers you need a press and the required tooling to set it up,I cannot find the specs for that now as we always fitted the whole assembly.

You right to be careful considering the trouble getting to it,some new pressure plates come with support clips under the back of the fingers, they usually fall out when the pressure plate is tightened up in place, the clips are disregarded.

Yeah I found one at our local Case dealer when they had an auction and sold all their parts. I had been hunting one for a while guess I just got lucky for once.
