Have a 580 ck backhoe that I broke the loader frame right where it has been welded about a hundred times by the previous owners, does any one know if the 530 or the 580b loader frames are the same? My brother has about the same year hoe that has never been welded so I know they might be some out there, I am in central michigan

Yes as long as the 530 is a 530CK--- construction king. They are made a little different but will work.I have two model 35 case backhoes. 580B Would like to sell them. Curtis

I've seen a lot of machine frames broken over the years. To that end I've got to agree with the sentiment expressed by Graham and get the frame prepped, and welded back together properly.

With proper prep and welding, it should be as strong or stronger than it was originally. Now that all sounds good, and in theory would be the case, but I can tell you it will eventually break again because there is no way the average repair will withstand what the unbroken pieces would. That being the case, most repairs are reinforced with some extra plate that spans the broken area and distributes the forces onto fresh, unbroken material. Usually that type of repair will reinforce what was obviously a weak spot in the frame before it broke, and keep it from breaking in the same spot again.

Im from central MI as well, Used to work for a shop welding stuff like that all the time. Send me some pictures and maybe I could give you some ideas

Seems all the blame is on the person who welded it after it broke and none on Case for getting it wrong in the first place even when the metal was new and not impregnated with grease, lots of Case machines break at where the loader frame is welded to the boss, every day problem with some operators who like to raise the machine up high when using the breaker,if possible power wash the grease away, have fire fighting equipment near to hand, protect the cylinder rods, clean off the pigeon droppings old weld, push the frame back into place, protect the alternator and weld the boss back in place, take your time and go all the way round several times,I never suggest what rod to use,if the welder has to be told then he should not be welding,if he is a welder there is no need to tell him or maybe her.
