Does anyone know a source for an aftermarket or good used Hydraulic pump for a John Deere 210C Backhoe. None of my sources can find one. Parts are obsolete for the vickers pump and a new replacement from deere is close to $3500.00. Thanks in advance.

If you have the model number of the Vickers pump I can help you cross it over to something else. If it's a vane pump it should be stamped on a square pad on the back. I agree, 3500 is bit extreme..

Thanks but this is a tandum gear pump, Front section
is the steering pump and the back is the
hydraulic, built for Deere for the 210C only. It has
been replaced by a Sunstrand.

Thanks for the info. I will do some research and
make some calls. Part number for that pump has
changed 3 times. All depends on which number they
choose to use.

210C is an oddity for Deere and several features on it are unique. Can't help you on that odd-ball pump. 210C besides that "new" open-center" type pump - the engine is also different from others. At least with the early 210Cs - the balancing shafts got left out.
210C when new was supposed to be Deere's new "budget" machine.

Can you post a picture of the pump? The key is finding a pump that will go into the same area with the correct displacement. There are a number of different manufacturers of gear pumps that may fit.... Permco, Commercial Intertech, Parker. Measure the thickness of the gear sections and note the type of connections, i.e. straight thread, flange etc. A good hydraulic house that services the mobile industry should be able to come up with a compatible pump. I can steer you to a couple I know of. Where are you located?

I cannot post a picture of the pump at this
time, the machine belongs to a small town near me.
The problem is, the best I can tell is this pump
was manufactured by vickers for Deere only. It is
a tandum pump that produces 2 pressures and 2 flow
rates at the same time and is tied together with a
priority valve. The only interchange I have found
is the Sunstrand. I have been working on this for
close to two months.I have talked to two hydraulic
repair shops that specialize in pump repair and
sell new pumps and they could not help.I live in
WV,right on the VA line.

Just as a matter of interest what is wrong with your pump, are they any Vickers numbers on it.

That wasn't uncommon for Vickers to do, in fact a number of the manufactures did that for special OEMs. For instance look at CAT, at one time Vickers was the prime supplier to CAT and they made special pumps with connections just for CAT.

If it was a special made by Vickers for Deere then the model number won't make much sense to anyone. Even if you were to get a VIckers Distributor to call Vickers with the number you have they would only say it's special made for Deere and that's it. So you have 2 flow and 2 pressures, That can be duplicated with valving other that in the cover. How much effort do you want to put into this? If you want something to bolts right in then your options are going to be slim other than step up to the window with your American Express card.
