I'm looking for the part name and part number for the shield/cover/deflector which fits at the bottom of the grille inside and covers the pump. I can't find it in the JD parts book. Anyone know? Thanks.

Deere has a pretty good parts book online. I took a look, and given what your looking for, and the general area, I came up with a "cover", part number AT18324. Take a look a see if that is the piece you need.

No. That's the cover for the radiator fill. What I'm looking for hooks to the grille at the bottom, sets over the hydraulic pump and seals at the radiator with a composite rubber flap.

I've got a 450C, mine didn't have any type of cover, that I know of and I've had the nose off 4 times now. Perhaps someone fabricated it themselves. I'm trying to understand what the purpose of it, I understand it's a cover but the reasoning. The pump is below the grille opening...... any ideas?

Thanks DrLoch. The cover looks factory, a curved and probably stamped and punched piece of sheet metal with oblong holes that fit into the grille retainers at the bottom to retain it with a rubber flap stapled on the inner edge to seal at the bottom of the radiator. I think the intent engineering-wise was to minimize the incoming dirt from settling below and direct the air into the radiator. We smashed the grille and this shield. The shield is pretty much destroyed and I want to replace it if possible. Funny thing is I can't find anything listed for it in the parts book.
