Fuel pump wiped out on the old JCB (1971) with Perkins 6 cyl. diesel. If I choose to use an electric one is pump pressure critical. Thanks,Udo
 
The pressure is not critical,all its got to to is supply the injector pump with a steady flow of fuel,the injector pump has its own small vane type transfer pump to circulate the fuel and pressurize the hydraulic head,if you got a fuel injection shop near you they will be able to fit a repair kit to your old one and that will save messing around with connections and wiring,the engine would be a Perkins 6.354.
