steering clutch frooze on a kamotzu d21-p6

Has your dozer been sitting for a long period and the clutches frozen, you have checked there is oil the transmission, are the actuators working, the clutches are disengaged by hydraulic pressure when you press the pedal or pull the lever,(they come with either option)take the cover off from where you adjust the clutches and get a second person to move the steering control you should see the clutch yoke move,if the actuator piston is not pushing the clutch yoke you have a hydraulic issue,if it is pushing the yoke and the clutch is not disengaging the clutch is probably frozen,if that is the case you will need to disconnect the brake control rods so you can try to free the clutches by holding down the pedals to keep the clutches in the disengaged position and driving the machine against something solid like a tree to try and break them free.

It had been sitting up for several years. Don"t really know much about clutch system. From the book it looks like they are dry clutches. I have tried putting it under pressure by sinking the blade down in the dirt but haven"t had any luck.

The clutches are the dry type and probably have rusted up while sitting, the steering clutches are spring loaded to stay in the engaged position till the operator uses the control to disengage them,in case the booster pump has lost its prime check to see that the clutch yokes move when the control is moved,do you have lever or pedal steer, some experienced operators have the knack on breaking the clutches free, there are all sorts of remedies others use on here that I cannot suggest like filling the compartments with diesel etc,i.e in my career it was a life long battle to keep oil and fuel away from clutches and brakes,at my place the clutches would be removed and rebuilt.

Thanks I will check the yokes this afternoon. I have been told about putting it under pressure and working the levers to break them free but no success. I have levers, one break pedal and one inching clutch .
