I have a 1985 C31400 Series JCB. Having problems with the Transmission. When the motor is cold it runs okay in forward and reverse, but the more you run it, froward does not move but reverse is always okay. Whats wrong with it? The Transmission is a 4 speed with a dipstick.

Is this the syncro shuttle with an F/R electric shift, having a strong reverse indicates that the charge pump, torque and reverse clutch is good, the problem could be that there is a bad electrical connection to the forward solenoid, the solenoid itself or the clutch pack has an issue,I would check the solenoid, when its hot, have a second person in the seat, secure the machine and go underneath, put your hand up on to the two solenoids, put your fingertips on each solenoid and have the helper move the F/R switch, you should feel the solenoid plunger jump, compare the two,if they feel the same it is likely that the clutch has an issue,it could be leaking pressure or worn discs.
