Hello all, new to the group and I have a Case 450B Dozer and a Mahindra 4520 Tractor, have a nice track of land in Southwest Mississippi. I have a couple of issues with my 450B, I need to replace or rebuild the track tensioner, do I have to break the track in order to take the old one off? Also this dozer has been stripped of quite a few items, no brake pedals and no linkage for them either and so far I am ok with out them. One other item of concern in that the PTO shaft in the back is in-gauged and I have not found any way to take it out of gear. Thanks in advance for any answers.

I always split the track to get the idler and yoke off, knock out the master pin (the one with the hole or dimple in it) at 25 past in front of the idler and then reverse back till the end of the track is at the top roller, pull the idler straight out,no need to take the yoke from the idler as often the bolts will break, take out the piston and replace the seals,Case # for the seal kit D36826,a bone-yard for the missing brake parts would be the best bet.

The rear shaft, is most likely a winch drive shaft, [used to run the winch, if it had one.] The winch drive shaft runs when the engine runs, there is no taking them out of gear.
