JD 400 backhoe purchase

Hi all , looking at purchasing a JD 400 backhoe diesel . Don't know much about this machine since I had Case's . What are the pro's and con's . I haven't looked at real close but do know it has no cab and the price is 4 g .

Thanks

It's basically a 2020 farm tractor with a hoe and
loader on it. Only "con" is many of the parts are
proprietary and come from Deere. 400 is only the
tractor itself. Probably has a model 92 or 94 hoe
on it.

Wow !! that's what I call good info. Thanks a million .

I see it's has a rotary swing , unlike Case with rod cylinders that are bullet proof .

I need to have a good look at it before making any fast decisions . Some times I let the novelty ware off and save $$$$ L.O.L..

I just bought a 1 ton truck and have a 14 G trailer , so I am prepared for trailering anyway.

Once again -- thanks for the info.

The 400 was a good machine, but take a good hard look at the engine block. 400's were known to crack at the block if used hard.

The model 92 backhoe is not a rotary vane swing. It utilizes a
hydraulic cylinder bell rank arrangement. I find mine to be pretty
heavy mounted on my 11000 pound JD350 crawler loader. Without
some weight in the bucket the front end wants to lift going up fairly
mild inclines. Has good digging power with 24 inch bucket
